A big heart day at Brickfield's Pond near Towyn Holiday Park
A big heart day at Brickfields Pond is the perfect event for all of the family to get involved in to celebrate being healthy in the great outdoors. Located upon the Brickfields Pond in Rhyl, the free event will consist of some easy and enjoyable walks, small workshops where you can make things out of recycled materials and witness the unveiling of the new panel!
The Brickfields Pond is a local nature reserve set on an area of open land in the southwest region of Rhyl. The opportunity to take part in fishing is always a great activity, with depths over 20ft that home carp up to 20 lb, break and pike to over 10lb, tench and eels to 6lb, roach to 2lb 9oz and perch rudd and ruffe.
The site of the pond was once a clay pit that was converted into the fresh water pond we see today. It is a fantastic place not only to take part in the events, but to enjoy a spot of fishing, bird watching and feeding the ducks. Some of the birds you can expect to see are mallard, mute swan, moor hen and occasionally king fisher’s, grey heron and sand martin.
The pond is a lovely day out – and when combined with the free activities taking place from noon until 4pm, the event is perfect for any visitor or local! The pond and event is just a short drive away from Gaingc View Holiday Park Towyn, where you can enjoy a relaxing holiday in some excellent accommodation. This free event will take place on Saturday 23rd March from 12pm-4pm. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity whilst staying Towyn, Rhyl or any other nearby area!
